PXI Single 4 Channel Fibre Optic Mux FC/APC
40-850-014
The 40-850-014 4-channel multiplexer is part of Pickering's range of PXI Fiber Optic MEMS Switching modules. They are available in many high density formats with a choice of different connector styles to suit most applications: FC/APC (for optimal performance), FC/PC and SC/PC for general applications and LC and MU for high density applications. Fiber optic multiplexers create a signal path by redirecting the optical signal into a selected output fiber. This is achieved using Micro-Mechanical Mirrors driven by a highly precise mechanism and activated via an electrical control signal.

Fiber Optic Sensors
Leuze electronic GmbH + Co. KG
Plastic fiber optics are suitable for universal applications with low space requirements for object detection. Glass fiber optics are used in demanding environmental conditions with high temperatures and are resistant to chemicals. For radiation through foils or applications with high light power, they offer further advantages through the especially low damping. The flexible fiber optics with various head shapes can be integrated in nearly any system design. The detection range is dependent on the fiber optics and amplifiers used. Fiber optics can be used with the throughbeam principle or with scanning function. As a fiber array with multiple light beams, they can be used to detect especially small objects.

FIBER OPTIC MICROSCOPES
SpecVision
SpecVision is a video probe that engages directly with Krell polishing machines. This permits the viewing of polished optical surfaces while connectors or bare fibers are still loaded in the polisher. This in-line video inspection technique minimizes material handling and potential damage/contamination that may occur when transferring components from the polisher to a traditional microscope. SpecVision can interface with Scepter, SpecPro and Rev Polishers.

Fiber Optics
The use of fiber optics as light guidance allows great modularity and flexibility in the setup of an optical measurement system. Optical fibers can be made of many materials, such as plastic, glass, and silicates (SiO2). For high-quality fibre optics, as used in spectroscopic applications, synthetic fused silica (amorphous silicon dioxide) is used, which can be intentionally doped with trace elements to adjust the optical properties of the glass.

Fiber Optic Sensors
Fiber optic sensors are a special type of sensor that uses fiber optic light guides to deliver the light to the sensing position. They work well for applications involving small targets, unfavorable conditions and tight areas. Glass fibers can be used in harsh environments without damage and are more rugged than plastic fiber optics. Plastic fiber optics are more flexible and cost-effective and can be cut to length. When applied correctly, fiber optic sensors solve many applications general purpose sensors can't solve.
