Ingress Protection: Spraying Water and Splashing Water (IPX3 & IPX4)
Ingress protection testing tests the level of protection an enclosure provides against intrusions. Two such sets of ingress protection tests involve exposing the equipment under test (EUT), to spraying water and splashing water. These tests are numbered IPX3 and IPX4. The first digit, represented by the “X”, ranges from 0 to 6 and specifies the protection from solid particles. The second digit, in the case of spraying water, would always be a 3, and in the case of splashing water, would always be a 4.

NMC''s Transformer BDV Oil Test Set is a portable unit as per relevant Indian Standard Specification IS :6792 :1992, suitable for operation on 230 / 240 Volts, A.C. 50 Hz. A three core flexible cable is connected to the unit with three pin socket to connect the mains. The H.V. Transformer is a completely dry, resin encapsulated with two H.V. terminals with mounting saddles. The center point of the transformer is earthed, so that the voltage of each terminal to earth is only half the test voltage.

Contact Resistance Test Sets
When a high current passes through a pair of mechanically independent metallic contacts, the resistance must be as low as possible. An increase in resistance can lead to additional degradation, as I2R losses will cause local heating of the contact surfaces.
