The Model N360M measures carbon dioxide (CO2) by comparing infrared energy absorbed by a sample to that absorbed by a reference according to the Beer-Lambert law.The N360M uses Gas Filter Correlation (GFC) to overcome the interfering effects of various other gases (such as water vapor) that also absorb IR. The analyzer passes the IR beam through a spinning wheel made up of two separate chambers: one containing a high concentration of CO2 known as the reference, and the other containing a neutral gas known as the measure. The concentration of CO2 in the sample chamber is computed by taking the ratio of the instantaneous measure and reference values and then compensating the ratio for sample temperature and pressure. A nitrogen purge system is provided for the GFC wheel assembly to eliminate the effects of ambient CO2, if necessary.

Class A Ovens
Gruenberg ovens can be designed as Class A ovens to conform to OSHA, NFPA 86A, Factory Mutual (FM) and Factory Insurance Association (FIA) requirements. Class A ovens are equipped with a high exhaust rate: because the heating elements are an ignition source so a high exhaust rate is needed to dilute the volatile vapors below the “lower explosive limits.” As a result, the heating elements’ kW must be sufficiently increased to compensate for the heat loss caused by the above-normal exhaust rate. In addition, for a Class A oven to be energy efficient, the additional kW required must be carefully calculated according to solvent load and operating temperature requirements.

DVS Resolution’s key feature is the combined ability to precisely control and measure temperature and relative humidity while recording the highest resolution changes in mass. DVS Resolution uses a dry carrier gas typically nitrogen or compressed air for its operation. Digital mass flow controllers regulate flows of dry and saturated gases. Relative humidity is generated by precisely mixing dry and saturated gas flows in desired flow ratios which produce expected relative humidity. In a typical experiment a known concentration of water vapor is delivered over a sample placed inside the sample pan connected to the Surface Measurement Systems Ultrabalance™ measuring realtime mass changes caused by sorption or desorption of water molecules. Sample Conditioner
PCA-400
Bacharach’s active sample conditioner is used to enhance the performance of the PCA® 400 combustion and emissions analyzer in heavy industrial and commercial settings. The PCA® 400 provides accurate readings for CO, O2 and NO with a standard probe. Bacharach also offers optional Viton™ tubing with the sample conditioner to eliminate sample dropout, ensuring accurate results in applications where NO2 and SO2 measurements are necessary. The sample conditioner removes water vapor from the stack gas sample, preventing the formation of water droplets inside the analyzer’s probe hose. Water in the sample hose could absorb a portion of the gas sample and result in lower than actual readings of NO2 and SO2. The water extracted from the gas sample is pulled out of the thermoelectric (Peltier) cooler and into a water catch pot. The dry, conditioned flue-gas sample is then passed through to the PCA® 400 for analysis, ensuring a clean, dry, accurate air sample. This also prevents water passing into the instrument and possibly damaging the sensors or other components.
