Non-Destructive Surface Testing of Ferromagnetic Steel Bars
CIRCOFLUX Product Family
Foerster Instruments, Incorporated
The CIRCOFLUX test system is used for the non-destructive surface testing of ferromagnetic steel bars using the magnetic flux leakage method in accordance with standard EN 10221. This method is the most sensitive surface testing method for longitudinal, crack-like defects in hot-rolled ferromagnetic steel bars. The CIRCOFLUX sensor system therefore replaces subjective testing methods such as the magnetic powder test (magnetic crack detection) and visual checks, which are difficult to document and reproduce.

Crack Testing
STATOGRAPH® Product Family
Foerster Instruments, Incorporated
The STATOGRAPH product family is used for testing surface cracks with the help of eddy current sensors. Eddy current testing for material cracks requires the appropriate evaluation electronics and probes adapted to the testing task. Depending on the test situation and test object, the STATOGRAPH family of test instruments offers the right system for this purpose.

Systems for Measuring the Saturation Polarization σs and Js
KOERZIMAT® 1.097 MS
Foerster Instruments, Incorporated
The KOERZIMAT 1.097 measuring system by FOERSTER facilitates the accurate, automatic, and fast measurement of the weight-specific saturation polarization σs and volume-specific saturation polarization Js. The largely geometry-free measurement is particularly suitable for testing samples with complex shapes. The KOERZIMAT 1.097 MS is used for applications such as controlling the sintering level during hard metal sintering processes and determining the tungsten content dissolved in cobalt as well as the free iron, cobalt, and nickel content in powder / hard metals. The saturation polarization Js in Tesla can also be determined in soft magnetic components of magnetic circuits.

Magnetic Field And Permeability Measurement
MAGNETOMAT 1.790
Foerster Instruments, Incorporated
The MAGNETOMAT 1.790 is a measuring system for the precision detection of magnetic flux density and relative permeability. The MAGNETOMAT software is used for displaying the measured values and saving and exporting data. The wide range of probes facilitates optimal adjustment to the conditions of the application, such as the measurement of relative permeability within the scope of the quality control of stainless steel and low-permeable (non-magnetic) alloys. Further applications include the long-term monitoring of the magnetic environment, e.g. prior to installing magnetically sensitive devices, and the localization of ferrite enclosures in stainless steel and NE materials. Changes in material (sulfidation, degradation of lamination, structural changes) can also be proven thanks to permeability comparative measurements.

Eddy Current Test System
CIRCOGRAPH® Product Family
Foerster Instruments, Incorporated
The CIRCOGRAPH eddy current test system with rotating probes guarantees maximum detection sensitivity for exposed longitudinal surface defects on bright material. The test system is primarily used for wire drawing machines, Cu tube rewinders, and finishing sections in the bright steel sector. The individually tailored test systems by FOERSTER can be fitted with rotating sensors or CIRCOSCAN rotating discs. They scan flat and profiled material, e.g. when testing rails and billets.

Software For Visualizing Surface Quality
STATOVISION
Foerster Instruments, Incorporated
In combination with a STATOGRAPH module, the STATOVISION software enables the visualization of eddy current signals in a clearly arranged C-Scan. This results in an image of the surface quality of the components, allowing surface defects to be precisely localized. A major advantage of the STATOVISION software is the pattern recognition, which can be used for surpressing drill holes on brake discs, for example. The documentation of the entire scan is used for continuous quality assurance.

Non-destructive Eddy Current Testing of Long Products such as Tubes, Rods, Wire, and Profiles
DEFECTOMAT® Product Familiy
Foerster Instruments, Incorporated
The DEFECTOMAT systems by FOERSTER were specially developed for quality testing and process monitoring of long products. From hot testing to all bright steel processing steps, the surfaces of semi-finished products made from austenitic, (non) ferromagnetic metals can be tested for defects. The DEFECTOMAT systems operate in a contactless and non-destructive manner in accordance with the eddy current method and are used for detecting short defects, such as holes or localized defects and transverse defects. The systems detect defective materials fully automatically and reliably. Defects can be marked, classified, and automatically discarded. the test speed of up to 150 m/s facilitates 100% testing, even at high production speeds. The systems benefit from low operating costs and frugal energy consumption as well as low maintenance costs, few wear parts, and low use of materials.

High Quality UCI - And Leeb-measuring Technology
SONODUR Product Family
Foerster Instruments, Incorporated
The non-destructive UCI test method (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) as well as the Leeb test method enable fast and mobile measurement as a supplement to the classical hardness test. Due to the compact measuring probes and sensors of the SONO series, the devices can also be used in difficult test positions and with complex component geometries. Fields of application are e.g. incoming goods inspection, mix-up testing, production control, quality assurance, weld seam testing, cut edge testing, maintenance on installed components as well as the replacement of dynamic hardness testers for small material thicknesses (below 50 mm, e.g. boilers, tubes).

Magnetic-Inductive Testing
MAGNATEST® Product Family
Foerster Instruments, Incorporated
The MAGNATEST product family is used for the non-destructive testing of metallic materials for magnetic and/or electrical properties. The test instruments are used in the automotive and aviation sectors as well as in the production of semi-finished products. The focus is on testing components relevant to safety such as brake discs, or ball pins and functional components such as camshafts and drive shafts, pivots and piston pins. Typical test tasks include hardness checks, material differentiation and sorting. MAGNATEST can also be used for the automatic testing for the geometric properties of all metallic series components. The high-performance amplifier installed in MAGNATEST test instruments makes it possible to analyze harmonics, which guarantees an extremely reliable and precise repetition, even when impacted by perturbations.
